Viral Bride Meets Ex-Boyfriend Before Wedding Video: Woman Says “Clip Was Scripted, Mujhe Aur Meri Family Ko Bahot Troll Kiya”
Social media was recently flooded with a video showing a bride, dressed in traditional wedding attire, meeting her former boyfriend just hours before her wedding. The emotional clip quickly went viral, with many users believing it captured a real-life moment. What followed was a wave of outrage, moral policing, and harsh judgment directed at the woman featured in the video.
The clip, widely shared across platforms, showed an Indian woman in a red lehenga appearing to have an emotional final interaction with her ex-partner before getting married. Viewers assumed the incident was genuine, sparking intense criticism and debates about personal values, relationships, and loyalty.
However, the woman in the video later came forward to clear the air. Identified as Shruti Dahuja, she issued a detailed clarification on her official Instagram account on Friday, December 19, breaking her silence for the first time since the video went viral. Shruti revealed that the entire clip was scripted and part of fictional content that was shared without her consent.
According to Shruti, she was selected at the last moment to play the role of a bride and had no control over the final narrative or presentation of the video. She said she trusted content creator Aarav Mavi to upload the video responsibly, with proper context, disclaimers, or tags that would make it clear the clip was staged. That, she claimed, did not happen.
In her statement video, Shruti expressed how the situation spiraled out of control. She said, “Uss bande ne mujhe pucha bhi nahi ki is this okay ya main daal sakta hu kya video. He said ‘Acting mein ye sab chalta hai.’ Maine uss baat ko chod diya, lekin mujhe bahot zyada troll kiya gaya. Meri family ko bhi troll kiya.”
She further alleged that the creator later spoke to her mother and promised to release a clarification video. “Usne meri mummy se bhi baat ki aur kaha ki vo ek clarification video daalega. Lekin clarification video mein sirf apni hi badhaai ki. Mera zikr bhi nahi kiya. Bas itna kaha ki video scripted hai,” Shruti added.
As the clip continued to circulate, Shruti became the target of severe online harassment. Many users questioned her morality and character, while others dragged her parents into the controversy despite them having no connection to the video. Several people also expressed sympathy for the man shown as the groom, assuming Shruti had secretly met an ex-boyfriend behind his back before marriage.
The backlash reportedly took a heavy emotional toll on Shruti, forcing her to publicly defend her integrity against allegations rooted in misinformation. What was meant to be scripted content turned into a deeply personal ordeal, highlighting how quickly online narratives can spiral without context or consent.
The incident has since sparked wider conversations about online misogyny, moral judgment of women, and the serious consequences of viral content being shared irresponsibly.
