The audio launch of Jana Nayagan, widely believed to be Thalapathy Vijay’s final film as an actor, turned into a deeply emotional evening for fans and industry insiders alike. Held in Malaysia on December 27, the grand event was not just about celebrating a film—it marked the closing of a historic chapter in Vijay’s cinematic career, as he prepares to step fully into politics after the movie’s release.

Addressing a massive crowd at the event, Vijay spoke candidly and from the heart. As his speech neared its end, the actor couldn’t hide his emotions while talking about moving away from cinema. Quoted by Pinkvilla, Vijay said, “I don’t know whether I should say this or not, but my last film is a little painful, right? What do you want me to do?”

The moment struck a chord with fans, many of whom have followed his journey for decades.

One of the major highlights of the evening was the release of the film’s third single, ‘Chella Magale’. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander, the song adds another emotional layer to the film’s music album. Vijay, clearly fond of Anirudh, affectionately referred to him as “MDS—Musical Departmental Store” during the event, drawing cheers from the audience.

Adding a personal touch, Vijay himself has lent his voice to the song, with lyrics written by Vivek. The music video beautifully portrays the tender relationship between a father and his daughter, making it a heartwarming addition to the film.

The audio launch saw the presence of several prominent filmmakers and actors who have previously worked with Vijay. Notable attendees included Lokesh Kanagaraj, Nelson Dilipkumar, Atlee, Nasser, Srinath, among others. Their presence added to the emotional weight of the occasion, symbolizing the respect and bond Vijay shares with the film fraternity.

Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Alongside Vijay, the film stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani in key roles.

The supporting cast further strengthens the project, featuring Sunil, Reba Monica John, Monisha Blessy, Baba Bhaskar, Teejay Arunasalam, Nizhalgal Ravi, Revathi, Srinath, Irfan Zaini, Arun Kumar Rajan, and Lithanya, all playing pivotal parts in the story. Jana Nayagan is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026. In the Telugu-speaking regions, the film will face tough competition at the box office from Prabhas’ much-anticipated The Raja Saab, which is also slated to release on the same day.
