Pune Metro To Run Special Late-Night Services On New Year’s Eve For Commuters

Pune: In a move aimed at ensuring safe and convenient travel during New Year celebrations, Pune Metro has announced special operational hours on the night of December 31, 2025. According to MahaMetro officials, metro services will run continuously from 11:00 pm on December 31 until 6:00 am on January 1, 2026, to facilitate late-night commuters across the city.
The special arrangement has been made keeping in mind the large number of citizens expected to step out to welcome the New Year, as well as to reduce dependence on private vehicles and ensure safer public transport options during late hours.
Authorities have clarified that after the completion of the special night service, regular Pune Metro operations will resume on January 1, 2026, running from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, as per the normal timetable.
Pune Metro officials have appealed to passengers to make use of the extended services and plan their travel in advance. Commuters have also been advised to follow safety norms and cooperate with metro staff for smooth operations.
“With extended hours and reliable connectivity, Pune Metro aims to make New Year celebrations safer, smarter and more convenient for citizens,” officials said.
The initiative is expected to significantly benefit office-goers, partygoers, tourists and night-shift employees, reinforcing Pune Metro’s role as a dependable mode of urban transport during major public events.
