Pune, January 9, 2026: As campaigning gathers momentum for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections 2026, Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) candidates Nanasaheb Kondiba Abnave, Vasundhara Shivdas Ubale, Darshana Swapnil Pathare and Sameer Dattatray Bhadale, contesting from Ward No. 4, have unveiled a comprehensive 100-day action plan aimed at addressing key civic issues and delivering visible improvements at the grassroots level.
Presenting their development roadmap, the candidates said their priority would be to focus on essential civic services, public safety, infrastructure maintenance and traffic management, with an emphasis on transparency, accountability and citizen participation.
Addressing the drinking water issue remains at the top of the agenda. The proposed plan includes a rapid audit of water supply pipelines and storage tanks across the ward to identify leakages and bottlenecks. Mobile water units will be deployed in areas facing acute shortages, while regular water quality testing will be conducted and results made public to ensure transparency and public trust.
Public safety and policing form another key pillar of the plan. The candidates have proposed increased coordination with local police stations to enhance patrolling in vulnerable and high-risk zones. Community policing initiatives will be encouraged to strengthen citizen engagement, along with the introduction of a structured feedback mechanism that allows residents to report safety concerns promptly.
To tackle poor road conditions, the candidates announced a “Zero Pothole Drive”, under which dedicated repair teams will be deployed for swift action. Quick-setting repair materials will be used to ensure immediate relief, and a public dashboard will be created to track complaints and monitor progress in real time.
Pedestrian infrastructure will also receive focused attention. Dedicated cleaning crews will be assigned to major footpaths, supported by the installation of waste bins at regular intervals. Damaged footpaths will be surveyed and repaired using durable materials, with special provisions such as ramps to ensure accessibility for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
The removal of encroachments is another major component of the masterplan. Illegal encroachments will be identified using GIS mapping, followed by due notices and relocation assistance where required. The reclaimed public spaces will be restored for community use.
On traffic management, the candidates have proposed the introduction of smart traffic signals at congested junctions, strict enforcement of no-parking zones, and coordination with public transport and ride-sharing services to improve traffic flow.
The candidates stated that their 100-day plan reflects a commitment to action-oriented governance, promising measurable outcomes rather than mere assurances. “Together, we aim to build a safer, cleaner and better-planned Ward 4 that citizens can truly be proud of,” they said.
