MLA Laxman Jagtap writes to CM urging to provide financial aid to Covid19 patients being treated at private hospital
Chinchwad constituency Member of Legislative Assembly has written to the chief minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray and health minister Rajesh Tope stating that state government should pay for the expenses of the patients undergoing treatment at private hospitals for Covid19.
He said that the number of Covid19 patients is rising but the facilities available are minimal. Most of the hospitals are overcharging patients and not providing ample facilities to the patients. Also since ICU, ventilator beds and oxygen beds at private hospitals are not sufficient most of the patients are approaching govt or PCMC hospitals. Also despite of Mahatma Phule Jan Aarogya Yojana being announced by the government the benefits of these schemes are not reaching the patients.

In his letter, Jagtap has written, “Cases of Covid19 are on rise in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. Also most of the patients are dying due to Covid19 since most of them are not getting beds in hospitals for further treatment. Even after repeated pleas there has been no action to the letters I have written to both of them in the past. Also, state government should take over few more beds in private hospitals so that the pressure on the government hospitals shall decrease.”
