PMC forms ward level committee ; urges people to wear mask or face action

Covid19 pandemic has taught us to be more responsible than ever in our habits. Wearing mask, maintaining social distancing, avoiding spitting in public places but even after the strict action being taken citizens are not abiding by the rules. 

In order to curb the spread of the virus, state government had issued guidelines wearing mask, avoiding spitting in public places and failing to follow this shall attract fine of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 respectively. But even after the information sent across by the Pune Municipal Corporation as well as Pune City Police several times, citizens have not following it . 
Pune Municipal Corporation on September 16, issued a fresh statement that a ward level committee of three people, health inspector, assistant anti encroachment officer (inspector), anti-encroachment inspector and shall be responsible for taking action against people not following this rule. 
Vikram Kumar Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation has stated in the letter that these three officials at the ward level have been appointed to take action against people failing to follow the rules. This three member committee is headed by ulAssistant Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation (ward officer) of that area. 

Pradeep Raut, health inspector from Wanawadi Ramtekdi ward office informed that till September 12, 50 cases of persons without masks where recorded wherein 25000 fine was collected while two people were fined for spitting in public places wherein Two thousand rupees were collected. The action still continues everyday in the area as well as across Pune city. 
Local police from the areas have also been taking action against these culprits.Â
