Pune: Residents and Corporators Unite For Development Of Wanowrie–Salunke Vihar
Pune, January 23, 2026: A community-driven initiative aimed at strengthening civic engagement and accelerating local development was held on January 22, 2026, as Pune Pulse and the Wanowrie Residents Forum jointly hosted a “Meet and Greet Your Corporator” event at Atlantis Event and Party Venue in Wanowrie. The programme was organised to honour and felicitate the newly elected corporators of Ward 18 — Wanowrie and Salunke Vihar — and to initiate constructive dialogue between citizens and their elected representatives.
All four corporators of the ward — Adv. Sahil Kedari, Kalinda Punde, Komal Shendkar and Prashant Jagtap — attended the gathering. The event was coordinated by Maithili Manakawad, Anita Gosal and Renuka Suryavanshi with the aim of creating a collaborative platform for civic issues and development priorities.

Representatives from various resident forums were present, including members of the NIBM Road Residents Forum, Sopanbaug Residents Forum and Sahyadri Park Residents Forum. Several housing societies from Wanowrie and NIBM Road also participated, such as Ganga Satellite, Flower Valley, Ganga Savera, Oxford Premium and Comforts, Maestros, Lysha Enclave, Sacred Heart Town, Premanand Park and others. The programme also saw the presence of prominent local figures including Adv. Mahesh Punde, Sameer Shendkar and Kevin Manuel.

During the interaction, the corporators assured residents that they would work collectively for the welfare of the ward and maintain an active dialogue with citizens. They emphasised the importance of resident participation in planning and decision-making processes to ensure balanced and sustainable development.

Residents highlighted key civic concerns such as chronic traffic congestion, encroachments, infrastructure gaps and the urgent need for urban planning interventions. A shared sentiment emerged that Wanowrie and NIBM Road require focused attention and a coordinated development roadmap.
The event concluded on a positive note, with both citizens and corporators expressing commitment towards building a better, more organised and resident-friendly Wanowrie–Salunke Vihar ward.
