Moments later, recognition dawns, and Lily rushes toward him, her tail wagging wildly as she showers him with affection, unable to contain her happiness.
Havelia later opened up about how their bond began. Several years ago, Lily was found as a tiny, days-old puppy near his food truck. Over time, she became a constant presence in his life. However, circumstances forced a difficult separation.
“When we had to shut the food truck, I couldn’t take her along,” he shared. “It broke my heart, but she had become the ‘Queen of the Road’ and was well cared for by the local community.”
Due to health concerns and work responsibilities, Havelia was unable to return to the area for years. Updates about Lily came only through occasional photos sent by friends and people from the neighborhood.
“On the day I finally went back, I spotted her from a distance,” he said. “I walked toward her, wondering if she would remember me or see me as a stranger. What happened next speaks for itself.”
