Pune, February 7, 2026: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken strict action against a medical establishment after a hospital bill was found in a garbage dump during an inspection in the Guruwar Peth area under the Bhavani Peth ward office jurisdiction on Friday.

The action was carried out on February 7, 2026, following the directions of Deputy Commissioner (Solid Waste Management) Avinash Sapkal, Deputy Commissioner (Ward No. 5) Nikhil More, and Assistant Municipal Commissioner Timayya Jagle of the Bhavani Peth Regional Office. The operation was conducted under the guidance of Acting Deputy Chief Senior Health Inspector Mukhtar Sayyed and Senior Health Inspector Rahul Rajgolkar.

During routine inspection in the Gangaram Maharaj Path area of Guruwar Peth, officials found improperly dumped waste. Upon verification, a hospital bill was found in the garbage, which helped identify the concerned medical facility. The Solid Waste Management Department of the PMC immediately initiated action against the hospital for illegal disposal of waste.

A fine of ₹5,000 was imposed for violating waste disposal norms. Civic authorities also issued a strict warning to citizens and medical institutions, stating that waste must be disposed of strictly as per authorised municipal rules, failing which stringent penal action will be taken.

Senior Health Inspector Rahul Rajgolkar, Health Inspector Tausif Deshpande, Mukadam Chetan Dhade and other officials were present during the enforcement action.
