Pune, February 17, 2026: The Pune City Police have issued a public advisory after reports emerged of false rumours being circulated on social media platforms about a so-called child-kidnapping gang operating in the city.
Police authorities have categorically clarified that these claims are completely false, baseless, and misleading, and are being deliberately spread to create unnecessary fear and panic among citizens, especially parents and guardians.
In an official statement, Pune City Police urged citizens to remain calm and not fall prey to misinformation. The police appealed to the public to strictly follow these guidelines:
