Chakan, Pune, March 7, 2026: A meeting between officials of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) and representatives of industries in Chakan was held at the ARAI facility in Chakan on March 6, 2026. The meeting was organized at the initiative of the Federation of Chakan Industries.
Key officials present included Chief Engineer Sunil Kakade (MSEDCL), Superintending Engineer Bhujbal from the transmission department, Superintending Engineer Yuvraj Jarg (MSEDCL), Executive Engineer Keshav Kalumali (MSEDCL), Executive Engineer Vijay Gondke (MSETCL), Divisional Officer Prakash Shelke, and Section Officers Tope, Sharad Dhakane, and Vikrant Orde.
Representing the Federation of Chakan Industries were CEO Dilip Batwal, Director Vinod Jain, Amol Shirguppe from Schindler India, Sameer Gole from Corus India, Suresh Navale, Ganesh Gore from Motherson, Laxman Pawase from Flash Electronics, and representatives from around 60 companies.
During the meeting, several issues related to electricity supply were discussed. Industrial representatives questioned officials about frequent power supply problems. They pointed out that electricity connections are disconnected promptly even if there is a slight delay in bill payment, while issues such as uninterrupted supply, power quality, and frequent power failures are not addressed with the same urgency. They also expressed concerns that MSEDCL staff are not taking sufficient initiative to resolve these problems.
Responding to these concerns, Chief Engineer Sunil Kakade assured the attendees that minor issues would be resolved within a month. He also stated that transformer work at the Bridgestone and Volkswagen facilities would be completed soon. Additionally, several infrastructure development projects are underway and are expected to be completed within the next six months. Once completed, these improvements are expected to prevent major electricity-related complaints in the region for the next 15 years.
Transmission department official Bhujbal added that the transmission company is actively expanding infrastructure to reduce power-related issues in Chakan. Superintending Engineer Yuvraj Jarg stated that regular reviews are being conducted with local staff to ensure uninterrupted power supply and that all customer complaints will be addressed promptly. He reiterated that MSEDCL is committed to providing reliable and high-quality electricity supply to its consumers.
Federation of Chakan Industries CEO Dilip Batwal concluded the meeting by thanking all officials and participants for their presence and cooperation.
