Pune: Warkaris From Alandi Join Roza Iftar At Sadal Baba Dargah, Promoting Interfaith Harmony
Pune, March 12, 2026: In a notable example of communal unity, people from different religious backgrounds gathered at the historic Sadal Baba Dargah in Pune on Wednesday evening to participate in a Roza Iftar programme organised by the Sarva Dharma Sambhav Trust. The event, led by trust president Ikram Khan, brought together members of the Muslim community, Warkaris from Alandi, social leaders, and senior police officials, highlighting the spirit of harmony and mutual respect.
Among those present were Rajabhau Randhwe, Chopdar of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Sohala of Shri Kshetra Alandi, along with other Warkari representatives. Senior police officers including DCP (Zone IV) Chilumula Rajnikanth, Yerawada Police Station PI Anjum Bagwan, and Laxminagar Police Station in-charge Ravindra Kadam also attended the gathering.

The programme served as a platform to encourage dialogue and strengthen bonds between communities. Participants from different faiths shared the Iftar meal and offered prayers for peace and prosperity.
Speaking at the event, Ikram Khan said the purpose of organising the programme was to reinforce the idea that India’s strength lies in its diversity and shared cultural values. He noted that the fasting observed during the holy month of Ramadan teaches patience, compassion, and empathy for others, while also encouraging self-discipline and spiritual reflection.
Members of the Warkari community appreciated the initiative, stating that the teachings of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj emphasise equality, compassion, and universal brotherhood. They said such gatherings help build understanding and foster stronger relationships between people of different religions.
The evening concluded with participants breaking the fast together and exchanging greetings, sending a strong message of unity, peace, and communal harmony.
