Pune, March 12, 2026: The Pune City Traffic Police have been honoured with the 107th SKOCH Award for their innovative PTP Traffic App, which enables citizens to report traffic violations and road hazards efficiently.

Developed under the guidance of Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and Deputy Commissioner Ranjankumar Sharma, and implemented by Additional Commissioner Manoj Patil, the app was launched on June 14, 2025, in collaboration with Himmat Jadhav, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic, and Rajendra Gajanan Kane, Director of Omini Bridge Technology Pvt. Ltd.

The SKOCH Award is a prestigious national recognition presented by the independent think tank SKOCH Group, celebrating excellence in governance, digital innovation, and social development. Projects are evaluated on innovation, societal impact, implementation efficiency, transparency, sustainability, and public benefit, with multiple stages including shortlisting, expert evaluation, and public voting.

Since its launch, the PTP Traffic App has been widely adopted by over 1,40,000 citizens in Pune, who have reported more than 2 lakh traffic violations. The app has helped enforce fines totaling over ₹12 crore. It also allows citizens to report incidents contributing to traffic congestion, including accidents, vehicle breakdowns, potholes, road obstructions, oil spills, waterlogging, fallen trees, and abandoned vehicles. To date, more than 5,400 incident reports have been submitted, with over 80% of cases addressed by the Pune Municipal Corporation.

The app was presented to the SKOCH Award jury through an online PowerPoint presentation, successfully passing the initial and secondary evaluation rounds to reach the final stage. Public voting across India was also factored into the final selection.

The award ceremony will be held on March 28, 2026, at the Silver Oak Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Officials involved in the development and deployment of the PTP Traffic App include Deputy Commissioner Himat Jadhav, Police Constable Sharad Daund, technical advisors Rajendra Kane and Nitin Vaidya, and Amit Gonzari from Krish Intratrade.

The recognition highlights Pune City Traffic Police’s commitment to citizen-centric, technology-driven initiatives to ensure safe and disciplined traffic management.
