Pune MP Murlidhar Mohol Announces Surgery, Takes One-Month Break From Work
Pune, March 14, 2026: Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol has announced that he will be taking a mandatory one-month rest after undergoing surgery related to an old injury. The minister shared the update through a post on his social media account.
Mohol said the injury dates back 29 years, when he was actively involved in wrestling in Kolhapur. The injury eventually forced him to quit the sport. Although he had ignored the issue for many years, the pain has recently started increasing, prompting doctors to recommend surgery as the only option.
The minister said the surgery had to be carried out even while the Parliament session is underway. He noted that his busy schedule parliamentary responsibilities, travel across the country for official work, regular interaction with citizens in his Pune Lok Sabha constituency, and preparations for the upcoming Maharashtra Kesari Wrestling Competition—made the decision difficult.
Mohol said the temporary break from public work is more challenging for him than the injury itself. However, he expressed confidence that he will recover soon and return to public service within a month with renewed energy.
