Pune Traffic Police Take Action Against 170 Vehicles For Noise, Illegal Modifications And Traffic Violations In Undri
Pune, March 14, 2026: The Pune Traffic Police carried out a special enforcement drive under the jurisdiction of the Kalepadal Police Station, taking action against 170 vehicles for various traffic violations including loud horns, modified silencers, tinted glass and rule violations by auto-rickshaw drivers. The drive was taken in Undri, Handewadi, Mohamadwadi areas under Kalepadal Traffic Division.
The drive was conducted to curb increasing complaints about noise pollution and unsafe road practices in the area. During the operation, traffic officials targeted tankers using loud and disturbing pressure horns, auto-rickshaw drivers flouting traffic regulations, motorcycles fitted with illegal Bullet-style modified silencers, and vehicles with tinted or dark window glasses, which are prohibited under traffic rules.

Officials said such violations not only create inconvenience for commuters but also pose a risk to road safety. Pressure horns and modified silencers contribute significantly to noise pollution, while tinted glasses obstruct visibility and are often misused, making it difficult for authorities to identify occupants inside vehicles.
During the enforcement drive, officers stopped and checked several vehicles on key roads within the Kalepadal jurisdiction. Challans were issued and penalties were imposed on offenders in accordance with traffic regulations. Authorities also warned motorists and drivers against repeating such violations.

Assistant Police Inspector Pravin Jadhav shared details of the action and said the campaign was aimed at ensuring stricter compliance with traffic rules and maintaining discipline on the roads.
He added that similar drives will continue in the coming days to ensure safer roads and reduce noise pollution in the city. The police have also appealed to citizens and drivers to follow traffic rules and avoid illegal vehicle modifications for the safety and convenience of all road users.
