Pune, March 27, 2026: Pune Police is set to expand its presence with the addition of five new police stations, following approval from the Maharashtra government. The move is aimed at improving policing efficiency and reducing response times across rapidly growing areas.

As per a notification issued by the state home department on March 25, the upcoming police stations will be established in Manjri, Laxminagar, Narhe, Lohegaon, and Kondhwa Budruk–Yeolewadi. The order also specifies the jurisdictional boundaries for each unit.

The Manjri Police Station will serve localities along the Mula-Mutha river belt, covering Manjri Budruk, Shewalewadi, and nearby areas currently falling under Hadapsar and Phursungi police stations. The Laxminagar unit will take charge of parts of Yerawada, Shastrinagar, Sangamwadi, and Kalyaninagar. Narhe Police Station will cater to areas such as Navale Bridge, Vadgaon Khurd, Suncity, and Ambegaon.

The Lohegaon Police Station will focus on the airport corridor, including Dhanori and surrounding residential zones witnessing rapid development. Meanwhile, the Kondhwa Budruk–Yeolewadi Police Station will cover a large area stretching from Mango Woods Society to Kalepadal limits, including Tanaji Malusare Road, Antulenagar, Trinity College, and adjoining neighbourhoods. Its jurisdiction will further extend from Bopdev Ghat Machi to areas under Bharati Vidyapeeth police limits.

Amitesh Kumar said the expansion is expected to ease the burden on existing police stations and improve service delivery at the grassroots level. He added that the new units will be integrated with existing control room operations, patrol systems, and crime monitoring frameworks to ensure better coordination.
