Pune, April 4, 2026: Acting on the directives of the Municipal Commissioner, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) carried out a major anti-encroachment drive on Thursday, April 2, 2026, starting at 9:00 AM across several parts of the city.

The operation was conducted in areas including Kausar Baug, Kondhwa Khurd, Wanawadi, Old Kondhwa Limits, the Burning Ghat Riverfront area, Nagar Road, and Aundh.

During the drive, a total of 37,880 square feet of unauthorized temporary and permanent constructions were demolished. The action was carried out in the presence of municipal officials and staff.

To ensure smooth execution, the operation was supported by five PMC police personnel, 25 MSF personnel, two JCB machines, two gas cutters, and a workforce of 70 laborers.

The civic body reiterated its commitment to taking strict action against illegal constructions and maintaining planned urban development across the city.
