Pune, April 11, 2026:
The Pune Municipal Corporation carried out a major demolition drive against unauthorized constructions at Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) plants in the Undri (Haveli) and Autade Handewadi areas. The action was undertaken by the Building Development Department, Zone-1, targeting illegal structures spread across approximately 27,300 square feet.
During the operation, authorities demolished unauthorized sheds, structural installations, constructions set up for machinery, and other components erected without due permissions. The action was initiated after it was observed that the concerned projects were continuing operations without obtaining the mandatory approvals.

The drive was conducted under the guidance of Superintending Engineer Praveen Shende and Executive Engineer Suresh Sakhle. The team included Deputy Engineers Sandeep Shinde and Rahul Sorte, along with Junior Engineers Rutuja Chilakewar, Rajendra Funde, Sagar Shinde, and Kiran Ahirrao. A large workforce was deployed for the operation, supported by two JCB machines.
A total of seven RMC plants were targeted during the crackdown. Further legal and administrative action against the concerned projects has been initiated, with intimation sent to the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board and Maharashtra State Electricity Board. To prevent any untoward incidents during the drive, strict police security was deployed. The operation was completed smoothly with the cooperation of local administration and police authorities.
Deputy Engineer Sandeep Shinde from the Building Department of PMC stated that illegal RMC plants and constructions will face immediate demolition. He further emphasized that projects operating without permissions will be subject to penalties and legal action. It is mandatory to obtain approvals from PMC, MPCB, and MSEB before commencing any RMC plant operations.
