Prostitution Racket Busted at Chikhli Lodge; 9 Women Rescued, Including Trafficked Bangladeshi Victim
Pune: The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate has busted a prostitution racket operating from a lodge in Chikhli.
Acting on the instructions of Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey, a raid was carried out at Aditya Lodge on Dehu-Alandi Road. During the operation, police rescued nine women, including a young woman who had been trafficked from Bangladesh.
According to police, the lodge was being used as a front to run an illegal prostitution business. The rescued Bangladeshi victim is currently under protection, and the process to send her back to her home country has been initiated.
Police have arrested lodge manager Ashok Baburao Babar and employee Akibul Khalek Mulla. Additionally, lodge operator Sudarshan Pawar, property owner Nana Borate, and Sahil alias Shaheen Mandal have been booked in the case.
A case has been registered at Chikhli Police Station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. Further investigation is in progress.
