The deceased has been identified as Suresh Raghunath Bhokare, a resident of Gokulnagar in Katraj. He had visited the fort along with friends for a morning trek when the incident occurred, creating panic among fellow trekkers and locals.
According to initial information, the group reached Atkarwadi village at the base of the fort around 5 am and began their climb shortly after. While ascending the hill, Bhokare reportedly felt dizzy near a temple point along the route and suddenly collapsed.
He was immediately shifted on a stretcher and brought down to the base, from where he was rushed to a nearby private hospital. However, doctors declared him dead before treatment could begin.
Forest department personnel, including Baliram Waykar, Nitin Gole, Uttam Khamkar, and Sandeep Koli, reached the spot promptly and assisted in the rescue operation.
