Pimpri-Chinchwad civic authorities have identified 10 schools allegedly operating without mandatory recognition and warned parents that admissions there may put students’ academic future at risk.

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has issued a warning to parents after identifying 10 private English-medium schools in the city that are reportedly operating without required government approval for the academic year 2026–27.

According to the civic body’s education department, these institutions do not have recognition from the Maharashtra School Education and Sports Department. Officials said some of the schools had earlier received closure notices, but were still allegedly continuing operations and accepting admissions.

Authorities cautioned that enrolling children in such schools may create serious academic problems later. Students could face difficulties while transferring to recognised schools, as certificates and marksheets issued by unauthorised institutions may not be accepted. They may also miss out on scholarships and government education schemes.

Officials further warned that these schools could face sealing or legal action at any time, which may disrupt students’ academic year.

The schools named by authorities are:

Catalyst International School, Charholi Phata
Little Star English Medium School, Chinchwadnagar
Blooming Birds School, Tathawade
Nurture International School, Charholi
Mount Everest English School, Kasarwadi
Mindworld International School, Charholi
HEMS International School, Wakad
Galaxy International School, Moshi
Mane English Medium School, Kalewadi

Education department officer said strict legal action would be taken against managements operating in violation of rules. She also urged parents not to be influenced only by infrastructure, advertising, or appearance while selecting schools.

Parents have been advised to verify whether a school has a valid Certificate of Recognition and U-DISE code before paying fees or confirming admission. Those with doubts can approach the education department office of PCMC for clarification.

With the new academic year approaching, officials have stressed that careful verification can help protect both a child’s education and parents’ financial investment.

Disclaimer: Parents should independently verify the current recognition status of any school before taking admission decisions.
