For travellers from Pune and nearby regions looking to combine devotion with comfortable group travel this summer, Indian Railways’ tourism division has rolled out two specially curated Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train packages. These long-distance spiritual circuits are designed to cover some of India’s most revered pilgrimage destinations, with convenient boarding points across Maharashtra.

Sacred East & North India Circuit: Puri, Kamakhya, Baidyanath, Varanasi & Ayodhya

The first itinerary, titled the Puri–Kamakhya–Baidyanath Dham Yatra, is scheduled to depart from Pune on June 25 and will run for 11 nights and 12 days. This journey is structured as a comprehensive spiritual circuit covering major pilgrimage centres including:

  • Jagannath Temple in Puri
  • Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati
  • Baidyanath Dham in Jasidih, Jharkhand
  • Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi
  • Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya

Passengers can board the train from several stations along the Maharashtra belt, making it accessible for travellers beyond Pune as well. The boarding points include Lonavala, Karjat, Panvel, Kalyan, Nashik, Manmad, Chalisgaon, Bhusawal, Akola, Badnera, Wardha, and Nagpur.

Southern Spiritual Circuit: Divya Dakshin Yatra

The second package, known as the Divya Dakshin Yatra, begins slightly earlier, departing from Nagpur on May 26. This 12-day journey takes pilgrims across some of South India’s most significant religious and cultural landmarks, including:

  • Hampi
  • Mysore
  • Coimbatore
  • Tiruvannamalai
  • Vellore
  • Tirupati
  • Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga

Similar to the eastern circuit, this train also offers widespread boarding and deboarding flexibility across Maharashtra. Stations on the route include Nagpur, Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Chalisgaon, Manmad, Nashik, Igatpuri, Kalyan, and Pune, ensuring broad regional connectivity.

Travel Classes and Onboard Facilities

Both tourist trains are designed to accommodate around 750 passengers each and provide three travel categories:

  • Economy (Sleeper Class)
  • Standard (3AC)
  • Comfort (2AC)

The packages are fully inclusive, covering hotel stays on double, triple, or quad-sharing arrangements, pure vegetarian meals throughout the journey, road transfers (AC or non-AC depending on segment), guided sightseeing, travel insurance, and dedicated assistance from IRCTC tour managers.

Package Pricing

For the Puri–Kamakhya–Baidyanath Dham Yatra, the per-person fares are:

  • ₹22,770 for Economy (Sleeper)
  • ₹39,620 for Standard (3AC)
  • ₹52,860 for Comfort (2AC)

The Divya Dakshin Yatra is priced slightly lower:

  • ₹21,690 for Economy (Sleeper)
  • ₹36,740 for Standard (3AC)
  • ₹48,730 for Comfort (2AC)
