More than 340 runners took part in the Wings for Life World Run organised by Red Bull Pune at Nowrosjee Wadia College on May 10, 2026.

The event brought together first-time participants and experienced runners for a global race format that does not use a traditional finish line. Instead, participants run, walk or roll for as long as possible before being overtaken by the “Catcher Car,” a moving finish line that begins following runners 30 minutes after the race starts.

Organisers said the event aimed to combine fitness with fundraising, with proceeds supporting spinal cord injury research through the Wings for Life Foundation.

The route remained lively throughout the run, with music, cheering zones and crowd support along the course. Participants completed the event with medals and exclusive Wings for Life merchandise distributed to finishers.

According to organisers, the Pune edition of the event will return next year on a larger scale.

Event format

Unlike conventional road races, the Wings for Life World Run follows a moving finish line model:

  • Participants continue until the Catcher Car overtakes them
  • The Catcher Car starts 30 minutes after the race begins
  • Runners, walkers and wheelchair participants can all take part
