Pune: PMRDA Cracks Down On Illegal Hoardings In Haveli And Bhor
Pune, May 5, 2026: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has intensified its action against illegal hoardings within its jurisdiction, carrying out a strong enforcement drive over the past two days in Haveli and Bhor talukas. As part of the special drive, two massive hoardings were demolished, with authorities warning that such action will continue in the coming days.
The crackdown comes amid growing safety concerns posed by unauthorized constructions and hoardings. Acting on the directives of Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari and under the guidance of Additional Metropolitan Commissioner K. Manjulakshmi, the PMRDA’s anti-encroachment team launched the operation.

On Tuesday, officials conducted a major operation in Khed Shivapur (West) in Haveli taluka, where an illegal hoarding erected by Ishwari Ads in Survey No. 272 was removed. Earlier on Monday, a similar action was carried out in Kamthadi village of Bhor taluka, where a large hoarding owned by B. K. Naik and Sons in Survey No. 751 was dismantled.

During the two-day drive, authorities also seized iron frameworks and other materials used in the hoardings.
The operation was executed under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner (Encroachment) Himmat Kharade, with support from Tehsildars Asha Holkar and Ravindra Ranjane, along with Town Planning Officer Savkare and their team.
PMRDA officials have made it clear that strict action will continue against all hoardings erected without proper authorization.
