Worker’s Reel From 180-Foot Pune-Mumbai Missing Link Bridge Sparks Safety Concerns
Maval, May 7, 2026: A video reel allegedly shot by a worker from the under-construction Pune-Mumbai Missing Link bridge has triggered serious safety concerns and public outrage. The incident has raised questions over whether the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) and contractors are compromising the safety of workers and commuters.
According to reports, the reel was filmed while minor work was underway on the 180-foot-high bridge. The video reportedly shows a worker sitting inside a crane trolley at the top section of the bridge while four to five workers were engaged in work activities. Several vehicles can also be seen moving on the Missing Link route below.
The visuals have shocked viewers, with many expressing concern over the potential danger involved. Citizens questioned what could have happened if the workers lost focus while filming the reel and the trolley accidentally collapsed onto the bridge or into the valley below. The bridge is located above a deep gorge, making any mishap potentially fatal.
The incident has also raised questions about the role of MSRDC and the contractor company handling the Missing Link project. Citizens are asking whether proper monitoring and safety protocols are being followed at the construction site.
Notably, authorities have previously taken strict action against motorists stopping on the bridge for photographs or selfies, citing safety risks. Highway Police actions against such behaviour were widely welcomed. However, after the emergence of this viral reel, attention has now shifted towards the safety practices being followed by workers and contractors at the site.
The incident has sparked demands for immediate action and stricter monitoring to prevent any possible tragedy during the ongoing construction work.
