Has Air India Cancelled All International Flights Till July 2026? Viral Claim Misleading
Air India has clarified that it has not suspended all international operations until July 2026. The airline is only reducing services on select global routes due to rising fuel costs, West Asia tensions and operational challenges.
Rumours claiming that Air India has cancelled all international flights until July 2026 have gone viral on social media, creating confusion among passengers planning overseas travel.
However, reports have clarified that the claim is false.

Air India has not suspended all international services and continues to operate flights to major destinations across Europe, North America, Australia and Asia.
The confusion reportedly began after reports emerged that the airline would temporarily reduce operations on some long-haul international sectors during June and July 2026.
According to reports, the airline is facing pressure from rising aviation turbine fuel prices, West Asia airspace restrictions, longer rerouted flight paths and increasing crew and operational expenses.
Out of Air India’s more than 1,000 daily domestic and international flights, nearly 100 services may face temporary reduction, cancellation or rescheduling.
This means only a partial operational adjustment and not a complete shutdown of international flights.
Air India CEO Campbell Wilson reportedly informed employees that several international routes had become financially difficult to operate under current global conditions.
Flights that earlier used shorter air corridors are now taking longer routes because of geopolitical tensions in parts of West Asia. Some rerouted journeys are reportedly taking 60 to 90 minutes longer than usual, significantly increasing fuel consumption and operating costs.
Several long-haul routes from Delhi and Mumbai are expected to witness reduced frequency during this period.
Among the routes believed to be affected are flights to London, Frankfurt, Paris, New York, Toronto, Sydney and Melbourne.
Reports also stated that sectors such as Delhi-Vienna and Mumbai-Osaka have been temporarily suspended. Meanwhile, routes to cities including Frankfurt, Chicago, Vancouver, Melbourne and Singapore may see frequency reductions ranging between 15% and 30%.
Despite these adjustments, the airline continues operations across major international destinations.
Air India has also extended the suspension of Tel Aviv-Delhi flights till the end of June due to ongoing instability in the region.
Reports added that continued uncertainty in West Asia has affected global aviation operations, with several international carriers either suspending or limiting services to Tel Aviv.
The situation has reportedly created travel challenges for thousands of Indians living in Israel, many of whom are facing limited travel options and rising airfare costs.
According to industry estimates mentioned in reports, Air India is also dealing with mounting financial pressure and recorded losses exceeding Rs 22,000 crore for the financial year ending March 2026.
