PCMC Urges Citizens To Pay Property Tax Early And Avail Discounts
Pimpri, May 15, 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has appealed to citizens to pay their property tax at the earliest and take advantage of available concessions for the financial year 2026-27.
The Tax Assessment and Collection Department of PCMC has launched its annual property tax collection drive, under which women self-help groups are distributing property tax bills door-to-door across the city.
According to civic officials, a total of 5,09,747 property tax bills have been distributed so far to residential, commercial, industrial, and other property owners through direct visits by women from self-help groups.
PCMC has urged citizens to make timely tax payments, especially through online mode, which offers discounts of up to 10 percent. The civic body stated that online payment is fast, secure, and convenient, allowing residents to complete the process from home within minutes.
Between April 1 and May 12, 2026, women self-help groups distributed over 5 lakh bills across the city. Pimpri Chinchwad currently has 7,66,385 registered properties, of which 1,53,902 property owners have already paid their taxes. The civic body has collected ₹148 crore in revenue so far, with a strong response received for online payments.
Citizens Encouraged to Use Online Payment Facility
Considering the intense summer heat and rising cases of heat-related illnesses, the civic administration has advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel and opt for online tax payment facilities instead.
Officials said online payment helps citizens avoid long queues and saves time while also providing financial benefits through discounts.
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Pawar appealed to citizens who have not yet received their property tax bills either online or through home delivery to immediately contact the concerned tax collection department office and obtain the bill.
Pre-Seizure Notices Issued to Defaulters
PCMC has also started issuing pre-seizure notices along with bills to property tax defaulters. So far, notices have been served to 24,626 defaulters.
The municipal corporation has urged all pending taxpayers to clear their dues along with the current year’s property tax immediately to avoid penal action.
Statements from Civic Officials
PCMC Mayor Ravi Landge said property tax is one of the most important sources of revenue for the city’s development and appealed to citizens to cooperate by making timely payments. He added that the door-to-door bill distribution through women self-help groups has made the process more convenient for residents.
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Pawar stated that the tax department is ensuring that property tax bills reach every property owner in the city through self-help groups. He also warned that the process of issuing pre-seizure notices to defaulters is underway and urged citizens to clear pending dues to avoid further action.
