Youths allegedly roamed with sharp weapons, used modified Bullet silencers to spread fear; police traced accused through technical analysis
Pune, 16 May 2026: Pune Police have arrested three youths and detained a minor for allegedly creating panic in the Dive Ghat area late at night by brandishing sharp weapons and making loud noise with modified Bullet motorcycle silencers.
According to police, the group was riding motorcycles recklessly in the area while waving sickles and other sharp weapons, which frightened local residents. Following the incident, a case was registered at the Fursungi Police Station against all four accused.
The arrested accused have been identified as Yash Laxman Kute (20), Vedant Pramod Kute (20), and Prem Prasad Navale (20), all residents of Awhalwadi in Wagholi. A 17-year-10-month-old minor has also been detained in the case.
Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said the accused were traced after a team led by Senior Police Inspector Amol More conducted technical analysis and launched a search operation. All four were later taken into custody from Wagholi.
Police officials also visited the crime spot along with the accused as part of the investigation. Further probe is underway to identify others who may have been involved in the incident.
