Three four-wheelers parked near Moraya Park in Pimple Gurav were damaged late at night after unidentified persons allegedly created chaos in the area, triggering fear among local residents.
A tense atmosphere gripped the Moraya Park area in Pimple Gurav of Pimpri-Chinchwad after a group of unidentified persons allegedly vandalised several parked vehicles on Thursday night.
According to information received, the incident took place around 11 pm near the riverbank parking area in Moraya Park. A group of miscreants reportedly entered the parking zone suddenly and began pelting stones at vehicles parked there.
In the attack, three four-wheelers were badly damaged, with the windows of the vehicles shattered. The incident created panic in the locality and residents gathered in large numbers after hearing the commotion.
Videos of the vandalism have also surfaced on social media, showing the group allegedly creating chaos in the area. The clips quickly went viral and sparked concern among local citizens over safety and law and order during late-night hours.
Locals alleged that alcohol and ganja parties are regularly held near the riverbank area, raising serious questions about security and police monitoring in the locality. Residents also expressed anger over what they described as negligence by the Sangvi Police.
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Sangvi Police Station. Police officials visited the spot and conducted a panchnama. Authorities have also started examining nearby CCTV footage to identify the accused.
Police said the exact reason behind the vandalism is still unclear and efforts are underway to trace the unidentified suspects involved in the incident.
Following the attack, residents of Pimple Gurav have demanded increased police patrolling during night hours to prevent such incidents and restore a sense of safety in the area.
