Pune Crime Branch Busts Alleged Prostitution Racket At Spa Centre In Wagholi, Five Women Rescued
Pune, May 23, 2026: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Pune Crime Branch busted an alleged prostitution racket operating under the guise of a spa centre in Wagholi and rescued five women during a late-night raid.
According to officials, the action was carried out on May 22 after the Crime Branch received confidential information about illegal activities allegedly taking place at “9 Senses Spa” located at Rainbow Crossroads Building in Bakori Phata, Wagholi.
Acting on the tip-off, the AHTU team conducted verification using a decoy customer before raiding the spa premises. During the operation, police rescued five women who were allegedly being exploited for prostitution activities inside the spa centre.
Police also arrested one accused identified as Mahavir Sudam Sasane (29), a resident of Sainath Nagar, Perne Phata, Haveli taluka. Another accused has also been booked in the case.
A case has been registered at Wagholi Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of senior officers of the Pune City Police and the Crime Branch team.
