Pune, May 23, 2026: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday arrested Manisha Hawaldar, principal of Seth Hiralal Saraf Junior College, in connection with the alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak case.

According to sources, Hawaldar had been assigned responsibility by the National Testing Agency (NTA) as a Physics subject expert for the national-level medical entrance examination. However, investigations reportedly revealed her alleged involvement in leaking the Physics examination paper.

Following the development, the CBI took her into custody as part of its ongoing probe into the nationwide paper leak scandal. Officials are currently investigating the extent of her role and possible links with other accused individuals involved in the case.

After her alleged involvement surfaced, the Vidya Prasarini Sabha, the educational trust that runs Seth Hiralal Saraf Junior College, immediately suspended Hawaldar from her position.

The incident has created a major stir in academic circles in Pune, especially after allegations emerged against a senior education official associated with a reputed institution. Authorities are expected to further examine her tenure, responsibilities and alleged role in the examination process as part of the investigation.
