iPhone 18 Pro Leaks Hint at Smaller Dynamic Island, Bigger Battery and New 48MP Cameras

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series could feature under-display Face ID technology, a powerful A20 Pro chip, upgraded cameras and improved battery life, while prices are expected to remain mostly unchanged ahead of the likely September 2026 launch.

Apple’s next-generation iPhone 18 Pro lineup is still months away from launch, but several leaks and analyst reports have already revealed key details about the upcoming flagship devices.

Design and Display

According to reports, Apple is not planning a major redesign for the iPhone 18 Pro series. The company is expected to continue with a design similar to the current iPhone 17 Pro models. However, the new phones may come with a smaller Dynamic Island, thanks to partially under-display Face ID sensors that hide some hardware beneath the screen.

Colour Options

Leaks suggest Apple could introduce a new dark burgundy or deep cherry colour option with a slight purple shade. Along with this, light blue, dark grey and silver variants are also expected. The current black colour option may reportedly be discontinued.

Performance Upgrade

The iPhone 18 Pro is likely to run on Apple’s new A20 Pro processor, which is expected to be built using TSMC’s advanced 2nm technology. Reports claim the new chip could offer nearly 15% faster performance and up to 30% better power efficiency compared to the previous generation.

The devices are also expected to feature 12GB RAM to support upcoming Apple Intelligence AI features.

Camera Improvements

One of the biggest upgrades could be the new 48MP main camera with a variable aperture system ranging from f/1.4 to f/2.4. This feature would allow users to control the amount of light entering the lens, similar to professional cameras.

Apple is also expected to include upgraded 48MP ultra-wide and periscope telephoto cameras.

Bigger Battery

The iPhone 18 Pro Max may feature a battery larger than 5,100mAh, making it the biggest battery ever used in an iPhone, according to leaks.

Expected Pricing

Despite rising manufacturing costs due to 2nm chip production, analysts believe Apple may keep pricing mostly unchanged. In India, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is expected to start around ₹1,49,900, while the iPhone 18 Pro could begin near ₹1,34,900.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro series in September 2026, alongside its first foldable iPhone. The standard iPhone 18 models may launch later in early 2027.
