Pune, June 8, 2026: Railway passengers travelling on the Pune–Miraj route are advised to plan their journeys carefully as Central Railway has announced a 21-day pre-non-interlocking and non-interlocking block from June 5 to June 25, 2026. The block has been imposed to facilitate infrastructure upgrades, safety works, and the commissioning of the renovated Nira Yard under the Pune–Miraj railway doubling project.

The extended block period will lead to significant changes in train operations, including delays, diversions, short terminations, short-originations, and cancellations of several services. According to Central Railway’s Pune Division, multiple trains will be held at various stations for periods ranging from 15 minutes to two-and-a-half hours, resulting in delays.

Among the affected services are the Kolhapur–Pune Vande Bharat ExpressKolhapur–Pune DEMUBengaluru–Gandhidham ExpressBengaluru–LTT Mumbai ExpressAhmedabad–Kolhapur Express, and Mysuru–Ajmer Express. These trains will experience delays on different dates between June 5 and June 25.

The Hazrat Nizamuddin–Vasco Express scheduled for June 24 will be diverted and operated via the Manmad–Daund–Kurduwadi–Miraj route.

Several trains will also operate with altered schedules. On June 20, the Kolhapur–Pune DEMU will depart Kolhapur two hours late at 12:50 PM. The Miraj–Nizamuddin Express will leave Miraj approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes late on June 21, while the Kolhapur–Gondia Express will depart two hours late at 4:50 PM on June 25.

Partial cancellations have also been announced. The Kolhapur–Pune DEMU will operate only up to Satara on June 9, 16, 22 and 23, while on June 19 and 25 it will terminate at Lonand. Similarly, the Bikaner–Miraj Express on June 15 will run only up to Khadki station.

The Hubballi–Pune Vande Bharat Express will operate only up to Satara on June 19, leading to the cancellation of services between Satara and Pune on that day.

In addition, several local DEMU services have been cancelled. The Pune–Phaltan–Pune DEMU will remain cancelled on June 17 and 25. The Lonand–Phaltan–Lonand DEMU will be cancelled on June 17, 19 and 25. The Pune–Satara DEMU will not operate on June 19 and 25, while the Satara–Pune DEMU has been cancelled from June 17 to 21 and again on June 24 and 25.

Meanwhile, the Pune–Kolhapur DEMU will originate from Satara instead of Pune between June 9 and 24 and from Lonand on June 19 and 25. The Miraj–Bikaner Express will originate from Khadki instead of Miraj on June 16. The Pune–Kolhapur Vande Bharat Express will also start its journey from Satara instead of Pune on June 19.

Passengers are advised to check the latest train schedules and updates before commencing their journey to avoid inconvenience during the block period.
