Pune, India – 7 June 2026 – Saishree Vitalife Hospitals, a leading center for advanced orthopedic and robotic-assisted surgery in India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DePuy Synthes, a global leader in orthopedic technologies and solutions, to establish the DePuy Synthes Skills Lab in Pune. The initiative is designed to strengthen surgeon training and advance clinical capabilities in orthopedic care across India and beyond.

As the adoption of robotic-assisted surgery and advanced orthopedic technologies continues to grow globally, the need for structured surgeon training has become increasingly critical. The Skills Lab aims to address this need by providing a dedicated platform for hands-on education, simulation-based learning, and exposure to both conventional and modern surgical techniques, including robotic-assisted joint replacement procedures.

Saishree Vitalife Hospitals, recognized for its expertise in robotic orthopedic surgery, brings strong clinical leadership and infrastructure to this collaboration. With over three decades of engagement in India’s orthopedic landscape, DePuy Synthes has been consistently involved in advancing surgical education and training programs focused on innovation and improved patient outcomes.

The Skills Lab is envisioned as a comprehensive training hub for orthopedic surgeons from across India and international regions, with a special focus on those practicing in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. These regions often have limited access to advanced surgical training resources. The initiative seeks to bridge this gap by enabling structured learning pathways and improving access to global best practices in orthopedic care.

Through immersive training modules, surgeons will gain practical exposure to advanced joint replacement techniques and standardized procedural steps in arthroplasty. The program will combine simulation-based practice with hands-on training to enhance precision, consistency, and decision-making during surgical procedures. This structured approach is expected to improve procedural proficiency and support safer, more predictable outcomes for patients.

The initiative also emphasizes knowledge exchange and continuous medical education, allowing surgeons to stay updated with evolving technologies and surgical innovations. By fostering a culture of learning and collaboration, the Skills Lab aims to elevate the overall standard of orthopedic care delivery.
