Pune, 12th June 2026: A 48-year-old employee of an TCS company in Hinjawadi allegedly died by suicide at his residence, leading to a police investigation into allegations of prolonged mental harassment and workplace humiliation. The deceased, identified as Amit Abhay Brahme, is said to have left behind a suicide note referring to severe emotional distress, according to claims made by his family.
Based on a complaint lodged by his 19-year-old son, Anish Brahme, at Bhosari Police Station on June 9, police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against Vinod Jethalal Palicha and two employees associated with the company’s Hinjawadi office.
Allegations of Harassment
According to the complaint, Amit Brahme was employed with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Hinjawadi and died by suicide on June 2. Family members have alleged that he had been under immense mental pressure for an extended period. They claim that Vinod Palicha bore a grudge against Amit following personal disputes involving their families.
The complaint further alleges that Palicha filed false accusations of theft and fraud against Amit, issued legal notices through lawyers, and circulated defamatory emails within the company. Family members contend that these actions caused significant emotional distress and damaged Amit’s professional reputation.
Claims of Workplace Pressure
The complaint also names two colleagues, Archana and Shashwati, who were reportedly associated with the company’s DEG project. According to the family, Amit faced repeated humiliation at work, was deprived of important assignments, publicly embarrassed, and frequently pressured to resign.
It is further alleged that he was threatened with adverse performance reviews and subjected to continuous workplace pressure, creating a hostile professional environment that severely affected his mental well-being.
Family Alleges Mounting Emotional Strain
Relatives have stated that Amit was already coping with significant personal challenges, including his wife’s battle with cancer and other family responsibilities. They allege that the combination of personal stress, workplace difficulties, reputational attacks, and continued harassment pushed him into a state of extreme emotional distress.
According to the complaint, the cumulative pressure became overwhelming and ultimately led him to take the drastic step.
Following the allegations, Bhosari Police have registered an abetment to suicide case against the accused and have launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to Amit Brahme’s death.
