Pune: Purandar Airport Land Acquisition Deadline Extended Till June 30; Over 70% Agreements Submitted, Says Collector Jitendra Dudi
Pune, June 12, 2026: The deadline for land acquisition and acceptance of compensation for the proposed Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje International Airport (Purandar Airport) project has been extended till June 30 following requests from farmers and village heads, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi announced.
Dudi stated that out of the total 1,216 hectares of land required for the airport project, acquisition of 851 hectares has already been completed. Around 70 percent of the land acquisition agreements have been submitted so far. Compensation amounting to approximately ₹950 crore has already been distributed, while an additional ₹2,000 crore is expected to be received next week. The process of acquiring the remaining land is currently underway.

The Collector explained that several issues are delaying the completion of land acquisition, including pending land valuation matters, court cases, revenue department proceedings, corrections in ownership records, inheritance entries, relinquishment deeds, and other revenue-related formalities involving some farmers’ lands.
In view of these challenges, farmers and Gram Panchayat representatives had requested an extension of the deadline. After considering all relevant factors, the administration decided to extend the period for farmers to give consent for land acquisition and accept compensation until June 30, Dudi said.
The district administration expressed confidence that the extension will provide farmers with additional time to complete pending documentation and revenue procedures, thereby facilitating the smooth acquisition of the remaining land required for the airport project.
