The operation was conducted under the jurisdiction of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 6), following intelligence received by personnel from Mundhwa Police Station. Police officials Shivaji Jadhav and Yogesh Raut received confidential information that fraudulent call centres were operating from Amanora Mall in Hadapsar and another location in Fursungi, allegedly cheating hundreds of people through illegal online gaming platforms.

According to the police, three centres—two at Amanora Mall and one in Fursungi—were employing nearly 120 individuals.
