Investigators said the land has been the subject of an ongoing dispute. A case related to the same property was previously registered at Airport Police Station in December 2022, following which the Tehsildar had reportedly issued an order restraining Pritam Khandve from entering the disputed land.

According to the complaint, on the night of May 30, Khandve and several associates allegedly arrived at the plot with a JCB machine and attempted to carry out work on the land. When Shaikh questioned their presence and activities, the accused allegedly abused and assaulted him.

After learning about the incident, landowner Parvati Patil informed the police, who rushed to the spot. Following medical treatment for his injuries, Shaikh lodged a formal complaint at Kharadi Police Station.

Based on the complaint, police have registered a case against Khandve and seven others. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the land dispute, allegations of assault, and whether the Tehsildar’s order was violated. Further investigation is underway.
