Lonavala, June 17, 2026: A late-night police raid at a private bungalow in Lonavala has exposed an alleged illegal party involving several young men and women, police officials said. A total of 18 people, including 16 partygoers, the bungalow owner, and a caretaker, have been booked in connection with the incident.

According to the Lonavala City Police, the raid was conducted in the early hours of Sunday, June 15, after officers on routine patrol noticed loud music and commotion coming from a bungalow in Puranik Society, Bhangarwadi.

Police Inspector Sachin Patil said a special police team was patrolling the area at around 1:30 am when they noticed disturbances originating from Bungalow No. 135. Suspecting violations of public order, the team immediately reached the spot and entered the premises.

During the raid, police found nine young men and seven young women allegedly consuming alcohol and engaging in inappropriate behaviour inside the bungalow. Loud music was being played at the venue, causing disturbance to nearby residents, officials said.

The police stopped the party and registered a case against all those present. Apart from the 16 tourists, action was also taken against the bungalow owner and the caretaker for allegedly permitting the gathering to take place.

Police officials said such unauthorised parties have become a growing concern in Lonavala and surrounding areas, where villas and farmhouses are frequently rented out to tourists. Authorities added that strict action would continue against those violating regulations and disturbing public order. Further investigation is underway.
