Relief for Pune! Light Rain and Thunderstorms Likely from Tuesday
After days of hot and humid weather due to a rain break, Pune is expected to receive light showers accompanied by thunder and lightning from June 23, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Pune residents may finally get some relief from the scorching heat, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain with thunderstorms and lightning in the city from Tuesday, June 23.
The monsoon has slowed down across Maharashtra due to weak monsoon currents over the Arabian Sea, dry winds from the northwest, and the absence of any low-pressure systems. However, weather conditions are expected to improve after June 23, helping the monsoon regain strength.
The city has been experiencing rising temperatures over the past few days. On Friday, Pune recorded a maximum temperature of 36°C and a minimum of 23°C. On Saturday, the maximum temperature is likely to touch 37°C, with the minimum remaining around 23°C.
Although skies are expected to remain mostly clear for now, partly cloudy conditions may develop during the afternoon and evening. From Tuesday onwards, temperatures are likely to dip slightly, bringing a chance of light rain and thunderstorms to the city.
