Pune Porsche Crash Case: Court Defers Hearing On Plea To Cancel Juvenile Accused’s Father’s Bail Till July 8
Pune, June 24, 2026: A Pune court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on a police application seeking cancellation of the bail granted to the father of the juvenile accused in the high-profile Kalyani Nagar Porsche crash case. The matter will now be heard on July 8.
The application was heard before District Judge-24 and Additional Sessions Judge K.P. Kshirsagar. After considering submissions from both the prosecution and defence, the court postponed further proceedings without passing any order on the plea.
The prosecution has sought cancellation of the accused’s bail, alleging violation of bail conditions. According to Special Public Prosecutor Shishir Hiray, the application was filed after videos purportedly showing a celebration involving some of the accused persons surfaced on social media.
Hiray argued that the circulation of such videos could negatively impact witnesses and create an impression that the accused were unaffected by the legal proceedings and court-imposed restrictions.
“The accused were granted bail subject to strict conditions. The videos appearing on social media raise concerns about compliance with those conditions and could be viewed as an attempt to influence or intimidate witnesses,” Hiray submitted before the court.
The prosecution contended that the alleged conduct amounted to interference with the judicial process and sought a review of the relief granted earlier.
Meanwhile, the juvenile accused’s mother, who is also among the ten accused in the alleged blood sample swapping case and is currently out on bail, has moved a separate application before the special court handling the Porsche crash matter.
Through her plea, she has sought access to the forensic blood analysis and viscera reports of the two victims, Ashwini Costa and Anish Awadhiya. The application, filed under Section 207 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), states that copies of these documents have not yet been provided to her.
The case stems from the fatal Porsche crash that occurred in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area on May 19, 2024, in which a luxury car allegedly driven by an intoxicated juvenile rammed into a motorcycle, resulting in the deaths of Costa and Awadhiya.
Investigators have alleged that the juvenile’s blood samples were replaced with those of his mother at Sassoon General Hospital in an attempt to conceal evidence of alcohol consumption. The alleged conspiracy is said to involve medical professionals and other accused individuals, leading to a separate criminal investigation into the blood sample swapping case.
