Nashik, June 25, 2026: In view of heavy rainfall across Nashik district and to ensure visitor safety during the monsoon season, the Forest Department has introduced a series of restrictions at popular tourist destinations in the Trimbakeshwar forest region.

Among the key measures, entry to Harihar Fort has been capped at 300 visitors per day. Tourists will not be permitted to enter the fort after 2 pm, and prior permission will be mandatory for access. Officials have warned that violations of the new rules could attract legal action.

The restrictions have been introduced as thousands of visitors are expected to flock to the scenic locations during the monsoon. To monitor compliance and ensure safety, forest officials have intensified patrolling in the area under the supervision of local forest authorities.

Officials stated that tourist safety remains the top priority, particularly as weather conditions can change rapidly during the rainy season. Visitors have been urged to follow all guidelines and cooperate with authorities.

Groups consisting of more than 20 people will be required to register at least 72 hours in advance. Those arriving without prior registration may be denied entry.

The administration has also declared several tourist destinations, including Harihar Fort, Brahmagiri, Dugarwadi Waterfall and Necklace Falls near Pahine, as alcohol-free zones. Authorities have prohibited risky activities such as taking selfies, shooting videos or recording social media reels near cliff edges, forts and waterfalls.

Tourists are advised to check weather conditions, gather information about the terrain and carry appropriate safety equipment before planning their visit.

Officials have further clarified that tourist spots may be temporarily closed without prior notice in case of heavy rain, landslides, or any other emergency situation.

The Forest Department has appealed to visitors to follow safety instructions and help ensure a safe and enjoyable monsoon tourism season in the region.
