Pune, June 29, 2026: Pune Rural Police have recreated the crime scene at Lohagad Fort as part of their investigation into the alleged murder of 26-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal. The exercise was conducted to verify the sequence of events surrounding the incident and examine the statements made by the accused.

According to police, accused Siya Goyal was taken to the exact location on the fort where Ketan Agarwal allegedly fell to his death on June 18. The reconstruction was aimed at understanding the movements of the accused, the route they followed, their positions at the scene, and the sequence of events leading up to the incident.

Police officials said the exercise would help investigators compare the accused’s version of events with the physical evidence collected during the probe. The reconstruction was video recorded and carried out under tight security.

Authorities said co-accused Chetan Chaudhary would also be taken to the fort separately for a similar exercise to independently verify his account of the incident.

Investigators are examining several aspects of the case, including the alleged planning of the crime, the movements of the accused before and after the incident, digital evidence, and the motive behind the alleged murder. They are also verifying whether Chaudhary secretly followed the couple to the fort and the manner in which he allegedly reached the location.

To facilitate the reconstruction, entry to Lohagad Fort was temporarily restricted to the public while the police completed the investigation at the site.

Family Members Questioned

As part of the ongoing investigation, Pune Rural Police also questioned Siya Goyal’s parents, Pravin Goyal and Puja Goyal, along with her brother Sahil, at Lonavala Rural Police Station. Officials said their statements were recorded over several hours as investigators sought to gather additional information related to the case.

Sahil had also been questioned separately during an earlier round of interrogation.

Candlelight March Seeks Justice

Meanwhile, residents of Gahunje, where Ketan Agarwal’s family resides, organised a candlelight march demanding justice for the victim.

Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, appealed to members of the public who were present at Lohagad Fort on the day of the incident to come forward and assist the investigation.

He urged eyewitnesses to share any information they may have with the police, assuring them that their cooperation would help ensure justice for his son.

The investigation into the case is continuing, with police expected to rely on forensic evidence, witness statements and the crime scene reconstruction to strengthen the prosecution’s case.
