Pune Police Issues Traffic Advisory: Road Closed Between Jehangir Hospital Chowk and Mangaldas Chowk Due To Pipeline Work
Pune. July 2, 2026:Â The Pune Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory after a sewage pipeline burst on the stretch between Jahangir Chowk and Mangaldas Chowk in the Koregaon Park Traffic Division on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
According to the advisory, sewage overflow has spread across the road, making the surface slippery and unsafe for vehicular movement. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has begun repair work at the site.
As a result, the road from Jahangir Chowk towards Mangaldas Chowk has been temporarily closed to traffic from 11 am on July 2 until the repair work is completed.
Motorists have been urged to use the following alternative routes:
- Vehicles approaching from the RTO side should travel via Jahangir Chowk and continue through Alankar Chowk to reach their destinations.
- Motorists travelling from Sadhu Vaswani Road or Pune Railway Station towards Jahangir Chowk are advised not to proceed towards the junction. Instead, they should take a left at Alankar Chowk, continue via IB Chowk, and proceed to their intended destinations.
The Pune Traffic Police have appealed to commuters to cooperate with traffic personnel, follow diversions, and adhere to police instructions until normal traffic movement is restored.
