Pune: FDA Suspends Licences Of Seven Hotels And Restaurants Over Food Safety Violations
Pune, July 3, 2026: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the licences of seven hotels and restaurants in Pune Division after inspections revealed unhygienic conditions, violations of food safety regulations, and the presence of expired food items.
The action was carried out as part of the ‘Safe Food, Safe Drug, Safe Maharashtra’ campaign. Between July 1 and July 3, FDA officials inspected 70 hotels and restaurants across the Pune Division to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

The establishments whose licences have been suspended include Hotel Grand Purandar on Sinhagad Road, Crown Bakers on Sinhagad Road, Agrotees Catering Pvt. Ltd. in Ambegaon taluka, Barkat Biryani House in Wagholi, Royal Biryani House in Wagholi, and National 360 in Bavdhan.
The inspection drive is being conducted under the directions of Food Safety Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe. The administration has warned that strict action will continue against establishments found violating the Food Safety and Standards Act and related hygiene norms.
The FDA has also appealed to hotel and restaurant operators to maintain proper hygiene, comply with food safety regulations, and provide free access to safe drinking water for customers.
