Pune, July 3, 2026: An FIR has been registered at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station against the office-bearers and trustees of the Sinhgad Technical Education Society for allegedly withholding employees’ salaries amounting to over ₹5.06 crore, cheating staff members, threatening them, and causing financial loss to both employees and the government.
The case has been registered under Crime No. 361/2026 under Sections 316(2), 318(4), 126(2), 352, 351(2), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

The complaint was filed by Aarti Amit Purandare (45), a teacher residing in Shukrawar Peth, Pune, who has been working as a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) at Sinhgad Spring Dale School, Ambegaon Campus, since 2009.
According to the FIR, Purandare alleged that the institution failed to pay 80% of her salary for a period of 26 months from April 2020 to May 2022 and withheld her full salary for 15 out of 16 months between February 2025 and June 2026. The total unpaid salary due to her is ₹19,36,207.
The complaint further states that 26 other teachers were similarly deprived of their salaries, with their unpaid dues amounting to ₹4,87,47,211. The combined unpaid salary allegedly totals ₹5,06,83,418.
Those named in the FIR include:
- Maruti Nivrutti Navale, Founder of Sinhgad Technical Education Society
- Sunanda Maruti Navale, Secretary
- Rachana Navale alias Ashtekar, Vice-President
- Rohit Maruti Navale, Vice-President
- Sanjay More and Sharad Jarad from the Accounts Department
- Other trustees of the institution
The complainant has alleged that despite repeated follow-ups and assurances from the management, the pending salaries were never paid. She further claimed that the institution falsely reflected the unpaid salaries as disbursed in Form 16 and deducted Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), thereby allegedly cheating both the employees and the government.
The FIR also alleges that when employees demanded their pending salaries, they were threatened with termination if they continued to press for payment. The complainant has further accused the management of using abusive language, humiliating employees, preventing them from entering the institution, and issuing threats to their lives.
The case is being investigated by Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station.
