Pimpri Chinchwad, July 6, 2026: Ahead of the Ashadhi Wari 2026, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police have announced a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure the smooth movement of the Sant Tukaram Maharaj and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj palkhis while minimising inconvenience to commuters. The traffic arrangements will be in effect from July 4 to July 9, while restrictions on heavy vehicles entering Pune will remain in force until July 11.

The traffic plan has been issued by Vikrant Deshmukh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pimpri Chinchwad, and includes road closures, one-way traffic arrangements, vehicle diversions, no-parking zones, designated parking areas, and special traffic regulations across Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune.

According to the schedule, the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi will depart from Dehu on July 7, halt overnight at Inamdar Wada, proceed to Vitthal Mandir in Akurdi on July 8, and enter Pune city on July 9. The Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi will halt overnight at Gandhi Wada in Alandi on July 8 before proceeding towards Pune on July 9.

To facilitate the procession, restrictions on heavy vehicles will be enforced from 12 noon on July 4 until midnight on July 8 on several roads leading to Alandi. Goods vehicles travelling towards Alandi via Chakan, Chimbli, Markal, Moshi, Vishrantwadi, and Bharatmata Chowk will be diverted to alternate routes as notified by the traffic police.

General vehicles, except emergency service vehicles and Dindi vehicles, will also face temporary entry restrictions into Alandi during the same period. Several roads will operate as one-way routes to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safe passage of the palkhis.

Traffic restrictions in Dehu will remain in force from July 5 to July 8, with entry into the village prohibited for all vehicles except emergency and Dindi vehicles. Heavy vehicles will also be barred from sections of the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway and Talegaon-Chakan Road, with diversions arranged via Talawade, HP Chowk, Mahindra Circle, and Triveninagar.

On July 8, several internal roads around Mahadwar, Ramkrishna More Talim, and Inamdar Wada in Dehu will remain closed and designated as no-parking zones. A complete traffic restriction will also be imposed on the Dehu Kaman-Parandwal Chowk stretch, except for emergency and Dindi vehicles.

After the palkhi enters Pune city on July 9, traffic from Dighi Vitthal Rukmini Mandir towards Vishrantwadi via Bopkhel will remain closed. Multiple routes connecting Alandi, Moshi, Charholi, Chimbli, Wadmukhwadi, and Vishrantwadi will witness diversions throughout the day.

The police have designated several parking locations for devotees visiting Alandi, including Talekar Patil Chowk, Aditya International School, Dnyanvilas College, Mungse Parking, Nagar Parishad Parking, Polybond Company Ground, Baligada Ghat, Saptapadi Mangal Karyalaya, and Bhagirathi Lawns.
