Heavy Rain Alert: CM Devendra Fadnavis Appeals To Warkaris To Avoid Dehu–Alandi Crowding, Travel Directly To Pune
Pune, July 6, 2026 : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has appealed to Warkaris participating in the Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj and Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi processions to prioritise safety amid the ongoing heavy rainfall and flood-like situation across the state.
The Chief Minister said the current flood situation is serious and is being closely monitored by the administration. Due to continuous heavy rainfall, all four bridges over the Indrayani River have been submerged, severely affecting movement and transport in the Dehu and Alandi regions. He urged Warkaris to cooperate with authorities to prevent any untoward incidents.

Fadnavis further appealed to devotees to avoid large gatherings at Dehu and Alandi and instead proceed directly to Pune, as the wadi is scheduled to reach the city on July 10. He cautioned that travelling to Dehu or Alandi at this stage could be dangerous given the prevailing conditions.
He assured that the state government has made all necessary arrangements for the Warkari pilgrimage, including accommodation, food, medical care, and other essential facilities. Special arrangements are being made by setting up a large number of German hangars to ensure safe shelter for devotees.
The Chief Minister said the administration is working on a war footing, with coordination among the state government, district administration, police, and disaster management authorities. He urged citizens not to believe rumours and to strictly follow official advisories issued by the authorities.
