Pimpri-Chinchwad Traffic Diversions Announced In Nigdi For July 24 Morcha; Vehicle Movement Restricted On Key Routes
Pimpri-Chinchwad, July 23, 2026: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic restrictions and diversions in the Nigdi area on July 24 due to a planned protest march organised by the Scheduled Caste Reservation Sub-Classification Opposition Struggle Committee, Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The morcha will begin from Bhakti Shakti Chowk and proceed through Bhakti Shakti Circle, Tilak Chowk and conclude at the Tehsildar Office in Nigdi. To ensure smooth traffic movement and maintain public safety during the protest, several roads along the route will remain restricted for vehicles between 10 am and 3 pm.

The traffic notification was issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Pimpri-Chinchwad, Vikrant Deshmukh, under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. The restrictions will apply to all vehicles except emergency services.
Major Traffic Restrictions and Alternate Routes
- Vehicles travelling from Central Chowk on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway towards Bhakti Shakti Overbridge and Bhakti Shakti Circle will not be allowed during the protest period. Commuters have been advised to use alternative routes towards Pune.
- Traffic from Ankush Chowk towards Bhakti Shakti Circle and Tilak Chowk will be restricted. Vehicles can instead use routes via Bhakti Shakti Grade Separator Bridge, Bhel Chowk and other connecting roads.
- Vehicles approaching from Appu Ghar Chowk towards Bhakti Shakti Circle will face restrictions and can travel via Appu Ghar Corner, Bhakti Radha Hardware junction, Ankush Chowk and connected routes.
- Vehicles coming from Durganagar Chowk towards Tilak Chowk will be diverted through Chicken Chowk, Ankush Chowk and Bhakti Shakti Bridge area.
- Traffic movement from Swanand Dairy towards Tilak Chowk, Bhel Chowk and Bhakti Shakti Chowk will be restricted. Vehicles will be diverted through Khandoba Mal Chowk.
- Vehicles from Khandoba Mal Chowk service road towards Tilak Chowk, Bhakti Shakti Circle and Savali Hotel area will also face restrictions and will be redirected through alternate routes.
- Traffic approaching from Bank of Maharashtra Chowk, Gandhi Hospital Chowk and Kachghar Chowk areas towards Tilak Chowk and Bhakti Shakti Circle will be diverted through designated alternate roads.
Police officials have advised motorists to avoid the affected routes during the protest hours and use alternate roads to prevent delays.
The traffic department has instructed the Nigdi Traffic Division to install barricades and deploy personnel at key points to manage vehicle movement during the march.
Citizens and commuters have been requested to cooperate with traffic arrangements and plan their travel accordingly.
