Pune: Shiv Sena To Hold Massive Protest March Against PMC On July 30 Over Civic And Administrative Issues
Pune, July 28, 2026: Shiv Sena’s Pune city unit has announced a massive Jan Aakrosh Morcha (Public Protest March) against the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Thursday, July 30, alleging administrative failures, poor civic services, and lack of accountability across multiple departments.
The protest march will begin at 3 pm at the main entrance of the PMC headquarters. This will be followed by a sit-in protest at 4 pm outside the Education Board office within the civic headquarters, where party workers will demand answers over the disappearance of an important file from the Education Board.
According to Shiv Sena, the protest has been organised against several issues, including alleged poor-quality development works, deficiencies in solid waste management, concerns over the tendering process, the missing Education Board file, theft of PMC-owned LED streetlights, contaminated drinking water supply, waterlogged roads during the monsoon, alleged irregularities in the PMPML promotion process, and the recent termination of around 150 contractual workers from the Solid Waste Management Department who had been serving for eight to ten years.
Shiv Sena Pune City Chief Pramod Nana Bhangire said that despite Pune residents contributing thousands of crores in tax revenue, they continue to face poor infrastructure, contaminated drinking water, unhygienic conditions, damaged roads, and what he described as an unresponsive civic administration.
He alleged that the issues surrounding waste management, the tender process, the missing Education Board file, theft of LED streetlights, questions over PMPML promotions, and the removal of long-serving contractual employees point to serious administrative lapses within the municipal corporation.
Bhangire said the party would submit a detailed memorandum to the Pune Municipal Commissioner, demanding immediate and transparent action on all the issues. He warned that if the civic administration fails to respond decisively, Shiv Sena would intensify its democratic agitation in support of Pune residents.
The party has appealed to Shiv Sena office-bearers, Yuva Sena members, the Mahila Aghadi, affiliated organisations, party workers, and citizens to participate in large numbers in the protest march and sit-in demonstration.
